Our Dear friend Diane

For several decades, Dianne Keaton has showcased her talents from acting to producing films.

If there was an icon who made suits and hats for women, while giving a tomboy glam, Diane Keton. The icon who has been known for iconic roles is still relevant to today's viewers, from being laid-back Annie Hall to being a warm and sometimes aloof mother to Steve Martin in the 1991 remake of "Father of the Bride" and its sequel. She was versatile, from drama to comedies; she was someone who could switch up in a second.

Martin Sheen and Steve Martin were top-notch, with Diane playing the ever-doting mother from "Father of the Bride" in 1991

But to some, her most memorable movie role was playing Annie MacDuggan-Paradis in "The First Wives Club" alongside Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn. The film was based on a novel written by Olivia Goldsmith. The film was iconic for its ending, when the women began to sing "You Don't Own Me" by Lesley Gore

The film showcases the power of friendship while exploring the topic of women's aging, a subject Diane often discussed. Her high sense of humor attracts those who work with her. Fans of her work see what brilliance and excellence, has showcased through her films over her years in Hollywood, and how it hasn't changed her one bit.

She was a trailblazer with a touch of spunkiness. She was very outspoken and was quick-witted in comedy films, but she also gave character when playing serious roles.

Her most famous dramatic roles were as  Kay Adams-Corleone in The Godfather trilogy alongside Al Pacino. Playing a doomed wife to Michael Corleone, seeing him transformed into the ruthless mob boss, throughout the trilogy.

Diane Keaton won the 1977 Oscar for her role as the laid-back "Annie Hall"

But her most iconic role, cemented her in not just in movie history, but also in the fashion world, was her role in Woddie Allen's Annie Hall as the titular main character. From her sharp wit to her "la de da" personality, she won the viewers over and gained fans and critics alike.
But her outfits were also a statement to the feminist movement of wearing something that was not normal during the late 70s. Her fashion was her statement of excitement and perseverance, that women could wear what they want, without judgment.

The Outfits Diane Keaton wore in Anine Hall weren't just for the movie; they were her regular clothes.

Diane was someone who had such a free-spirited, funny, and warm personality to everyone who worked with her and her lasting effect is still being felt throughout her entire career. Daine Keton sadly passed away on October 11 at the age of 79. The newer generation of filmmakers who grew up with her films will forever have a special place in their hearts.
